Though it is an exciting experience of joining a new university in a foreign country, it is worth knowing certain things beforehand, e.g. what cloths to carry, hostel rooms, food availability, something about the city and weather, people and their traditions etc. Care is taken to provide as much information as possible, but still questions can arise into the minds of the students and their parents. We once again encourage you not to hesitate to ask through any means deem fit.
What to carry to China?
As far cloths are concerned, all types of garments are available in good prices and quality. Although, traditional Pakistani dress, especially for the girls will be a problem, so if you are of traditional type, take care to get ample amount of cloths both for summers and winters. In winter Changsha City Temperature is -4″C to 10″C and in Summer it is from 20″C to 40″C . When talking of cloths, one should not burden oneself with huge quantity, though. Please remember your main baggage will include the books, so leave more room for those, because one student can only carry up to maximum of 30 Kg per ticket. You will be charged extra money for every extra kilogram weight you are carrying.
Hostel rooms and how to buy food from Muslim Canteen ?
Please remember that hostel rooms availability is dependent upon merit and one has to choose his or her room-mate before hand. Once allotted, it will be very difficult to change the room and hence the room-mate before the end of the first year. Boys and girls will be living in the same building but separate floors . No boys are allowed to take girls entrances and visit their dormitories and vice versa without the Permission of girls will . University authorities take the matter of girls safety very seriously. Every where in International building there is CCTV cameras installed to observe the Students activities . Failure to comply with the rules of the hostel will lead to deportation and expulsion.
Rooms are spacious and beautiful. AC is supplied in every room students have to pay for electricity units, it will be utilizing. Every room is equipped for 2 students with attached bath. Hot water is available , Drinking water (Mineral Water ) is also available in just 7 RMB per 16 Litter bottle.There are 2 beds with bedding, pillow, quilt, 2 study tables with chairs, wardrobe , Table Lamp etc. In the International Building there is Elevator ( Electrical Lift ) for the ease of students and for the time saving of students.Some Electricity units (only 50 unites ) will be given to the student only at 1st time but it depends upon the university rules and regulations. So student must use his use electricity card for using Electricity.
There are 2 Kitchen in the dormitory where students can cook for for themselves also there is a Muslim Canteen in the Building especially opened for Muslim Pakistani Students, students can buy food that food is much cheaper than out side from the university .for This students have to make a canteen Card which is very easy to get from University.
